As of now, after 8 hours of sitting in the car and looking for highway signs every 5 minutes, I am in the Super 8 Motel in Spokane. Hello World.
After leaving Vancouver, we briefly stopped at the Canada / US border customs to show our passports. Unlike the last time we went over the border with Chinese passports (now we have Canadian passports), we were not bombarded with questions of obscure nature. We were not asked how many piece of hair we each had or how many rotations the right front wheel of the car has made in the last PI hours. This time we were greeted with a just friendly “where do you come from and where are you going” before we were sent off on our way. Horrayness.
Then we drove down #5 highway, happily welcomed by the millions of bugs swarming onto our windshield. We took a turn onto #2 highway, and soon stopped at Leavenworth for lunch. The little town, of which 90% are probably visitors, is full of German restaurants. We just bought a few burgers at McDonalds. I have prepared to get fat.
We resumed our trip yet again on #2 highway. The fields beside the highway between Leavenworth and Spokane are filled with crops. We weren’t sure what these were — probably wheat or oats.

Not so many pictures because there weren’t so many sight seeing places, although the view along the freeways was great. The mountains and rivers were very relaxing for a roadtrip.
Tomorrow we are headed to Bozeman, MT. More on that soon.
That sounds like a fun trip you are having. This reminds me of Feasting on Asphalt by Alton Brown, instead website style.. haha.
Take care on your trip.
